Frequently asked questions
How much cheaper is sipdigest.com than Rev?
Rev's AI transcription is $0.25/minute and human transcription $1.99/minute. A 60-minute video costs $15 (AI) or $119 (human) on Rev. sipdigest.com's flat Plus plan is $9.9/month (20 transcriptions/day) and Pro $19.9/month (50/day) — for regular transcription, the flat rate wins quickly.
When does it still make sense to use Rev?
Rev human transcription is the benchmark for verbatim accuracy on messy audio (interviews, legal, medical) where you need a human ear. If you need that guarantee, Rev human or GoTranscript is the right choice; for YouTube/podcast URLs with clean audio, sipdigest.com is instant and far cheaper.
Does sipdigest.com output SRT subtitles like Rev?
Yes — every transcription exports TXT, Markdown and SRT with timestamps. Rev also offers captions, but at per-minute pricing; sipdigest.com includes exports in the flat plan.
Is there a free alternative to Rev for occasional use?
sipdigest.com free plan gives 3 transcriptions daily (≤10 min each) with no credit card. Occasional short videos cost nothing; heavy users move to Plus at $9.9/month with a 7-day refund.
